Lunaus Café Mitte in Kabelhorst

A lot has happened since Lunau's took over the café. The ambience is modern and somewhat Nordic-hygglike. Bread and rolls can compete with those of its predecessor Böttcher, good quality. The downer, however, is that especially nowadays the rolls and bread are touched with the bare hand when packing, in which the money of the previous customer would be counted, etc. That doesn't work at all. It urgently needs to be improved, other bakers place much more emphasis on hygiene at this point. Then there would also be 4 stars. Addendum: In the meantime, attention is paid to hygiene when packing the goods. Many Thanks. So 4 stars!

Very good bread!

Nicely furnished, everything new, only the counter is still the original "Böttcher".

We shared the big breakfast for two. The rolls and the cold cuts were delicious and went well together. The latte macchiato was possible for an extra charge. There was enough space for enough guests. The staff was friendly, kind and helpful. We would love to come back.

Update Sep 6, 2020: the rolls are great !!! Staff is more than friendly and rounds off the purchase very positively. Cooper! One of the last traditional bakers. There are really baked goods here, baked according to an old recipe.

Wanted to have coffee there today, unfortunately the cafe has moved. The rooms are empty, there was only a note in the window with the new address.

Very good cake and coffee. Nice personel. The decor is getting old, but clean and cozy. Soon, when we are back on site, we will be happy to stay there for breakfast.

Here is still traditional crafts instead! Delicious rolls, fresh bread, fine cakes and pieces of cake. And many things have been around for decades, like moor heads (or whatever they're called today) or nut tart! Einack delicious! That such bakeries in the medium term in Germany are dying out is really a shame! Only large bakeries or bagged uniforms bread from the supermarket.

I was back there yesterday, have been a regular for a good 1 year, but when I saw yesterday, as a new something older employee both me and a mature lady, totally lousy treated, it has taken every opportunity to eat there again. Apart from 1-2 exceptions, very unfriendly staff, I'll leave my hard earned money elsewhere in the future where else.

One of the last traditional bakers, these are still really rolls ......... this bakery was recommended to us as tourists ........ were there for our partner breakfast ...... we have another Fetched rolls ........ and paid 16 € for 2 people ..... it couldn't be better.

The worst rolls I've ever eaten. It's a shame that you can't give zero stars, because aldi and co bake better. I'm sorry . . .

The baked goods and the sweet treats may have been made in-house, but the rolls tasted like cardboard and crumbs like dry biscuits! At home they say "Gelsenkirchener Barrok" about the facility, which seemed to be getting on in years!

Probably the best bread I've had in years.
